St. Vincent Health

Looking toward the future, St. Vincent General Hospital District has embraced the concept of a health campus where specialists, primary care, Lake County Public Health Agency, and other health-related offices reside in the old hospital building and synergistically complement services in the adjacent, new hospital facility.

New ambulance for Lake County

St. Vincent Health is grateful to have received our new ambulance in mid-May 2020! The new ambulance was made possible by 50% funding from the Colorado Dept. of Public Health and Environment EMTS provider grant.

The project included an ambulance, safety equipment, Motorola and Kenwood communications equipment, a new Zoll heart rate monitor/defibrillator, a Stryker Power Load cot and stair chair. The total cost is $213,392.54.

The new ambulance is a Ford Transit model with increased maneuverability and fuel efficiency, when compared to a larger ambulance. It rounds out the hospital’s fleet of two Dodge and one Ford ambulances and will quickly become relied on for transfers to other facilities.

The new ambulance will also become integral to our COVID-19 response; and will be utilized for home blood draws and home visits by medical providers for high-risk patients.

St. Vincent Health’s ambulance fleet consists of 4 ambulances – 3 of which were received with CDPHE EMTS grant funds in 2015 (Dodge), 2018 (Dodge) and 2020 (Ford). And there is a 2004 Ford ambulance in service for use as needed.

The new ambulance premieres the hospital’s new branding and name, St. Vincent Health, which will be introduced widely later this year.
